CytoSorb® Registry is an independent international registry coordinated by the University Hospital of Jena and aimed at collecting data of all patients treated with CytoSorb®. In the context of extracorporeal therapies in critical patients, the development of Randomized Controlled Clinical Trials is very complex, due to the high heterogeneity of the patients and the ethical difficulty linked to randomization in experimental and control groups, therefore, the use of a Registry could represent a useful instrument.
The study of the data obtained from a clinical registry, therefore, aims at documenting the actual use of the technology, the knowledge of its clinical efficacy, the optimization of the quality of its therapeutic application and the identification and management of the possible related complications.
