CytoSorb® is a sorbent cartridge used as an adjuvant therapy in the treatment of:

  • SEPSI
  • SIRS
  • Septic Shock
  • MOF
  • Liver failure
  • Rhabdomyolysis

The cartridge allows blood purification in clinical conditions with high concentrations of cytokines and other molecules potentially harmful.
The interruption of the cytokine cascade and the resumption of the homeostasis allow the stabilization of the haemodynamics of the patient, the reduction of the use of inotropic drugs, the improvement of the fluid balance, normalisation of lactate levels and protection of capillary integrity.

CytoSorb® at a glance

  • pro-and anti-inflammatory cytokines
  • mediators of inflammation
  • bilirubin
  • myoglobin

Studies in vitro and in vivo have shown that sorbent can remove additional molecules, including bile acids, ammonium, free haemoglobin and certain drugs.
Adsorption takes place according to the concentration-dependent principle: at high concentration of the molecule, the maximum performance is achieved for the removal of the molecule.

cytosorb before after

CytoSorb ® is characterized by a resin with beads of polystyrene-divinylbenzene and polyvinylpyrrolidone.

Proprietary polymer technology:
